ClubReady customer Zivel, business for the right reasons

The health & fitness industry is full of individuals who make a career out of helping others, but few are as committed as Zivel

Help people. That's exactly what Dr. Matt O'Neill and Brian Welch set out to do when they founded Zivel, a powerful health brand centered on preventative care and services designed to aid recovery from injury or illness.

When four consecutive software providers didn't help, just continuously overpromising and underdelivering, O'Neill was close to burn out finding a company that mirrored his own ideals. But he was not willing to settle. When an employee at one of his locations mentioned he should check out ClubReady, O'Neill was intrigued – and then impressed by the way ClubReady handled his questions.

After some responsive initial conversations, Zivel made the switch – and with ClubReady creating new features just for Zivel, O'Neill knows that he's found his people.

Hear more from Dr. O'Neill about how ClubReady is adapting to fit Zivel's needs in this exclusive video:

Finding Family
I am Dr. Matt and I’m the owner, founder of Zivel. And what we do is we’re helping people reduce pain, stress, and anxiety through cryotherapy infrared sauna. We just opened our 18th location and we’re expanding out from there. So we’ve been with ClubReady for about six months now. The way that I approach things is I was looking for family. I was looking for, is there a company that has ideals that we have, which is helping people? Do they have the tools that we need? Do they have the pre-sale capabilities? Do they have kind of an all-in-one package versus trying to put things together from multiple different angles? Do they have proper reporting? Do they have all the stuff that’s going to allow us to basically maximize and be better at what we do? But at the same time, uh, have that compassion family, they pick up the phone, they help you out. They’re always willing to give you the shirt off their back, if you will. You know, and that’s the approach. It’s not a gimmick with this company. It’s actually their approach. It’s who they hire, it’s who they bring into the company from the top down. I’ve met everybody from the owners on down, and every single person has the same attitude.

Turn On and Go
We turned on of them in January, and by February the first locations started presales immediately. And we’ve just been rocking and rolling since then. So it’s really put all of our locations ahead of the curve—probably 50% of where they need to be, just that much further down the line. That’s what we get with ClubReady. We have a lot of different versions of variations of reporting that we can look at things, but it’s all accurate. And that’s a really, really important thing for me as a franchisor. Looking at every location as well as my individual locations and how that’s divided out so they can plan on marketing spend and all sorts of things where they need to target as a business for growth.

Watching the 1%
My 1% rule is if I go negative 1% in any way—it could be my mental health, my emotional health, my physical health—something goes negative, it goes backwards 1% I need to fix it. For my owners, I tell them, if you’re watching the bank account, your eyes are looking at the wrong thing, ’cause it’s the last thing that’s going to change. You need to be looking over here first. And so on our dashboard one of the first things that I like to see, and I check this almost every day, is the leaderboard. Who in the country is selling the most employees and locations? That’s really cool to me. I’ll send text messages to certain employees of places—they’re not my employees, right? They’re employees of that facility. I’ll be like, Hey, great job on sales yesterday.

That was awesome. Again, it gives me kind of a pulse of what’s going on. If there’s problems with billing, that’s the second report that we see on our dashboard. Hey, is there an issue with your billing? And you click on it and it’ll tell you the person, the date that every little nuance of what’s going on. Again, you’re, you’re, it’s that 1%. It might be $150 thing but you start wondering what’s going on and it’s a $3,000 change or $10,000 change because your employee did something over here, or customer service was going bad. You can track these things very, very quickly at the beginning. It’s that type of stuff. It’s more preventative, kind of like what we’re trying to do at Zivel. We’re trying to prevent issues from occurring and not fix them after they’re already broken.
